About Us

One Big Mission
A strategic branding concept for all corporate social responsibility initiatives of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. It has three main objectives;
- Continue the Missionary Sisters Servants of the Holy Spirit (SSpS) legacy to help and give back to communities in need
- Fulfill Lourdes Hospital's lifelong commitment to helping the poor and indigent and
- Promote a healthier Philippines.
Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital is a hospital owned by the Missionary Sisters Servants of the Holy Spirit (SSpS). It started in 1948 with a 50-bed capacity which increased to 160 in 1960. In 1975, the hospital’s capacity rose to 200 beds. At present, OLLH is considered a tertiary hospital with 184 patient beds and 32 nursery beds.
OLLH has weathered the test of time. It has stood witness to over half a century of change. One of the major changes happened on November 1, 2010, when the Missionary Sisters entrusted the operations and management of the hospital via a 20-year long term lease agreement with East Manila Hospital Managers Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Metro Pacific Hospital Holdings Inc., now the largest private hospital operator in the country.
The hospital has been serving the healthcare needs of people for over 70 years with the new management anchored on strong values foundation of SSpS. OLLH envisions a future of being one of the best healthcare institutions with better facilities, updated training methods and programs, and competent hospital and medical staff who are known experts in their respective fields.
To answer the needs of the community and the growing demand of patients seeking medical help, expansion programs and improvement of physical facilities are continuously undertaken to address these. Driven by a passion to serve humanity, OLLH vows to continue its commitment to effectively deliver Christ-centered quality healthcare and holistic healing.Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital was established on July 15, 1948, in Santa Mesa, Manila, by Dr. Basilio J. Valdes and Dr. Carlos Casas. The 50-bed, three-story general hospital was built in response to the need for medical facilities during post-World War II. Dr. Valdes was the first Medical Director, while Dr. Casas became the inaugural Hospital Administrator. The pioneering effort also welcomed the involvement of our sisters from the congregation of the Missionary Sisters Servants of the Holy Spirit (SSpS).
Later, in November 1957, Lourdes Hospital transitioned ownership to the SSpS sisters. Under Sr. Irmingarda Feld SSpS's leadership, significant renovations occurred, including the creation of the Service and Administrative Building, expanding bed capacity to about 200, and establishing the Medical Arts Building for doctors’ clinics.
After over six decades, the SSpS sisters entrusted Lourdes Hospital's management to Metro Pacific Health, the Philippines' largest private hospital group led by Mr. Manuel V. Pangilinan. This partnership spurred hospital advancements, encompassing facility upgrades, technology investments, and expanded medical services. As of the end of 2022, Lourdes Hospital boasts a workforce of over 700 professionals. Its annual gross revenue has surpassed the 1-billion-peso milestone, catering to over 12,000 admissions and around 120,000 outpatient cases annually.Mission
