Nursing students from the University of Santo Tomas, in partnership with Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, secured second place at the 2025 Battle of the Nightingales (BOTN) Nationals held on October 20, 2025, at Shangri-La The Fort.
Representing UST were Daniel Singh Clerigo, Enrico Luis Felix, and Kyle Kevlar Labay—all nursing seniors under the guidance of Asst. Prof. Dennis S. Cuadra, MAN, RN, who served as their team adviser.
Throughout the competition, the team demonstrated remarkable teamwork and mastery of nursing and medical concepts, standing out among some of the best nursing schools in the country.
Their journey to the nationals began with the NCR Qualifiers of BOTN on September 11, 2025, where they also placed second to earn their spot in the national round.
The Battle of the Nightingales, organized by Metro Pacific Health, the largest hospital network in the Philippines, is an inter-school nursing quiz bowl that highlights the skill, intellect, and compassion of future Filipino nurses—values that UST and Lourdes Hospital continue to champion in healthcare and education.
